Aptitude at PTE World 2026: Advancing Digital Identity in Travel

23/03/2026

Aptitude was prominently featured at PTE World 2026, held in London from 17 to 19 March 2026, contributing to key discussions on digital identity and the European Digital Identity Wallet (EUDI Wallet) within the travel ecosystem.

A central highlight of the event was the dedicated track on “Digital identity and wallets in travel”, where Aptitude was presented as part of the new wave of European Large Scale Pilots supporting the rollout of EUDI Wallets. Within this context, Aptitude supports the implementation of real-world use cases, enabling the integration of digital identity solutions across the passenger journey.

A key moment of the programme was the presentation by Groupe ADP, which showcased its ambitions around the Digital Travel Credential (DTC) within Aptitude. The session illustrated how EUDI Wallet-based credentials can be used to streamline identity verification processes in airport environments, contributing to smoother, more secure, and more efficient passenger flows.

This contribution fed directly into the high-level panel discussion “EUDI wallet, digital travel credentials and facilitation – what will the wallet bring for travel and passenger facilitation?”, moderated by Annet Steenbergen, with speakers including Florent Tournois and Patrick Sgueglia. The discussion focused on how EUDI Wallets and DTCs can enhance interoperability, reduce friction at borders and airports, and support the transition from pilot environments to operational deployment.

Further reinforcing Aptitude’s role in the ecosystem, additional sessions included:

  • The presentation of Aptitude as a French government-backed digital identity initiative, part of the second wave of EUDI Wallet pilots launched in October 2025
  • Insights from aviation stakeholders, including Lufthansa, on pilot activities linking EUDI Wallet implementations with Aptitude
  • Broader discussions on digital travel credentials and their role in enabling seamless and user-centric travel experiences

Overall, PTE World 2026 demonstrated the increasing maturity of the EUDI Wallet ecosystem, with a clear shift from conceptual discussions toward concrete use cases and real-world deployment scenarios. Aptitude’s contribution underscored the importance of collaboration between public authorities, airports, and airlines in bringing digital identity solutions closer to operational reality.
