On 25 February 2026, German partners participating in the Aptitude Large-Scale Pilot (LSP) met in Berlin for a dedicated coordination meeting focused on advancing the implementation of the European Digital Identity Wallet (EUDI Wallet).
The meeting brought together organisations working across Aptitude’s core use cases including Digital Travel Credentials, Tickets and Check-in, Mobile Vehicle Registration Certificates (mVRC), and Payments and Banking. Partners presented implementation updates from their respective areas and exchanged views on how to ensure smooth interoperability between wallets and relying parties in line with the eIDAS 2.0 Regulation.
A significant part of the discussion focused on payment scenarios and the practical integration of the EUDI Wallet within banking environments. Discussions also addressed the trust infrastructure required to support secure attribute exchange and cross-border verification across Member States.
An update was provided on the development of the German national EUDI Wallet and the ongoing Sandbox onboarding process. Participants explored how Aptitude pilot activities can align with national deployment plans and contribute to validating operational and technical requirements ahead of the planned launch in 2027.
By bringing together stakeholders at national level, the Berlin meeting helped reinforce coordination within the German ecosystem and strengthen preparation for upcoming pilots. Through continued collaboration, Aptitude contributes to building a secure, interoperable and user-focused European Digital Identity Wallet ecosystem.
